Stepping Stones Kindergarten School and The Summit Educational Institution, a ‘first of its kind’ School in Chikmagalur, has perfected over the years, a whole new concept in learning and a new method of teaching. Dear Parents.

The school is being built in a 24 acre area situated in the valley having wonderful scenic beauty of Chikmagalur. All the building coming up will have a very modern and state of the art design. Every point is considered in detail (design, facilities, clour etc) and is being executed to make your kids feel contented. The first block is completed and the remaining blocks will come up as and when required. The block feels very warm and inviting. The other block coming up are classier. Here are the few things that should help you figure out the set up of the school.

THE EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS

INSIDE

  • Tables and shads are scaled to the size of the child. There are low open shelves for children's toys.

    • OUTSIDE

  • Playground equipment is strongly made, painted and free from slivers, loose nails or other hazards. Slide and sand box is in place.

    • Both INSIDE and OUTSIDE

  • There is large variety of creative materials like playhouse corner, dolls, blocks, wheel toys, transportation toys, paints and easels, clay, musical instruments, books, pictures and nature materials.

    • The BUILDING.

    1. At least 15 square feet of floor space per child (as per the intemational standards). .

    2. Spacious classrooms and corridors, in-built courtyard. The classrooms are provided with all modem facilities and teaching aids.

    3. The building is clean; light (window space is 50% of floor spa., and low enough for children to see the nature outside). .

    4. Properly ventilated.

    5. Provision is made for rest and sleep.

    6. The children's bathroom include low toilets and low wash basins. .

    7. Play ground has a space of at least 100 square feet per child.

    PHONETICS

    Phonetics awareness, or the ability to hear fine distinctions between sounds, blend sounds together to form words, and break words into individual sounds, is essential for learning to read . Kindergarten programs in our school build in a variety of activities that promote phonetic awareness, from rhyming games to sorting objects beginning with the same sounds, to reading books involving language play.

    ABC's AND 123's ARE A KEY PART OF THE SCHOOL'S LEARNING GOALS

    focus on cognitive areas such as ABCs and 123s matters enormously. For example, how well a child reads at the end of first grade predicts how well they read in later grades. graduation rates and even their income level as an adult. Stepping Stone and The Summit help ready children advance beyond age norms, but also nurture children who are behind so they catch up in these early years. Age appropriate books are distributed. Lot of opportunities are given for the childern to learn and write and to understand the way the print works. To imbibe the See & Learn technique, videos related to the subjects are show through the projectors. The primary objective of our school is to provide an environment for the children where they can express their self to the fullest. They first learn how to communicate , play and interact with others. These we do by involving them in game, music and outdoor play. Also simultaneously prepare the kids for formal education. These we do by teaching them three languages (English, Kannada and Hindi), numbers, environment science, morel science, computers, general knowledge and developing personal and social skills. Our school incorporates the principles of Montessori as well. Groups are small and are carefully su pervised. Speccific individual needs will also be catered to. .
